I think when I was in the 7th grade my mom's friend gave me an Andy Warhol book, I think it was called retrospective. I looked at that thing from cover to cover and ever since then I was hooked. Pop Art exploded in the 1950s and ‘60s, blending comic book aesthetics, advertising, and everyday imagery into fine art. Artists like Roy Lichtenstein, inspired by comic panels, used bold lines, halftone dots, and exaggerated expressions, elevating pulp visuals into high culture. Meanwhile, Andy Warhol transformed consumerism into art, making Campbell’s soup cans and Marilyn Monroe icons of the movement. Their work influenced film aesthetics, album covers, and even music videos, from Batman’s comic-book visuals to Warhol-designed Velvet Underground covers.
