Fast forward today and the NYC rap scene has changed a lot. Was this its peak? The mafioso era blending this gritty dark cinematic story telling style, but still maintaining the braggadocious rapping that NYC is known for. The 3 years after this, and the 3 years before this was untouchable... not pun intended... again.
